The Bronco Guide
Cal Poly Pomona

How do you invigorate a student body with printed media?

The Bronco Guide is a magazine published and distributed annually by The Poly Post, Cal Poly Pomona's student-run newspaper. Every year, it is the team's duty to release a "Bronco Guide" magazine that educates and excites the study body about life at Cal Poly Pomona.

Alongside a wonderful team of designers, I co-developed and implemented a creative strategy for the published magazine to provide a cohesive image across its included articles, guide coworkers through the design process, and ignite excitement for the 30,000+ members of the Cal Poly Pomona community

Design Guide

The design style guide was developed to ensure cohesion and establish consistency with all magazine layout designs. With 7 designers working on the magazine, having guidelines in place to create a sense of likeness throughout the entirety of the magazine was a necessity. In cases of disagreement or uncertainty, having an agreed upon document to reference makes problem solving a much smoother process.

A Special Thank You

To the wonderful team that I had the pleasure working with all year long, thank you. This project couldn't be completed without the hours of work put in by all parties involved. Designers, marketing team, photographers, everyone went above and beyond. This is truly a special issue of the Bronco Guide because of you.
